Terms of Service

Last updated: 26 April 2026

Please read these terms carefully before using DocForMe. They set out your rights and responsibilities when using the Service.

01

Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using DocForMe ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using it, you represent that you meet this requirement.

02

Description of the service

DocForMe is a software-as-a-service tool that reads data from GitHub repositories you connect and generates AI-powered documentation using the Anthropic Claude API.

The Service is provided on an "as is" basis. Features, pricing, and availability may change with reasonable notice.

03

Your account

You must sign in with a valid GitHub account. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

You may not share your account or use the Service to provide access to third parties outside of permitted sharing features.

We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms or misuse the Service.

04

Your content and repositories

You retain ownership of your GitHub repositories and any code within them. Connecting a repository to DocForMe does not transfer any intellectual property rights.

You grant DocForMe a limited, non-exclusive licence to read your repository data solely for the purpose of generating documentation for your use.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to connect any repository you add — including repositories owned by organisations.

05

Acceptable use

You may not use the Service to process repositories containing illegal content, generate documentation intended to deceive others, or attempt to reverse-engineer or scrape the Service.

Abuse of the API (excessive sync requests, automated bulk processing beyond plan limits) may result in rate limiting or account suspension.

06

Payment and billing

Free plan features are available at no charge. Pro plan features require a paid subscription billed monthly.

Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise recurring charges to your payment method.

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused time, except where required by law.

We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days notice to existing subscribers.

07

Availability and liability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Planned maintenance will be communicated in advance where practical.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DocForMe is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability in any 12-month period shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in that period.

08

Termination

You may delete your account at any time via the settings page. This will permanently remove all your data.

We may terminate or suspend access for breach of these terms, non-payment, or conduct we reasonably consider harmful to the Service or other users.

09

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

10

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the Service evolves. We will notify you via email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
